What was sanitation like in ancient egypt?
The ancient Egyptians practised sanitation but the amount of sanitation available to people was according to their social status. Without the modern technology, we have these days, Ancient Egyptians had to dispose of their own garbage using the irrigation canals. Whereas in the modern world, our rubbish gets picked up weekly. As a result of them essentially dumping their rubbish in canals, vermin and disease spread easily. Ancient Egyptians had to work with what they had. Without the use of modern technology, Ancient Egyptians showers would look something like them standing on a dented floor and having water poured on them. Others would just simply bath in the Nile River to get clean. But this wasn’t very smart as the water was used for drinking as well. Because of this sickness was largely caused by the water. In conclusion because of technology in Ancient Egypt, and knowledge sanitation wasn't Ancient Egyptians strongest quality.
